Cecile Popp

Cecile Popp …

… is a Canadian writer, educator and contributor to the 2019 anthology sensation, Expat Sofra (Alfa). A fourth generation expat, it is perhaps not surprising that her work explores themes of identity and belonging.

Her essays have appeared in Elephant Journal, Medium and Thrive Global. Her writing workshops, which she began while teaching at Robert College in Istanbul where she worked for seven years, are now also available online.

Cecile currently lives in southern Turkey with her husband and their three sons and teaches at Adana Science and Technology University. She is writing a memoir about her Baltic German grandparents’ coffee plantation in Tanzania during the 1930s.
